"Night Ferry"
This painting evolved from a series of photos I took during night walks in Whytecliff Park with my big black flat-coated retriever Lex, while at art school in Vancouver. Chilly, dark and wet were fine with him. The smell of the ocean & the hum of the ferry’s engine as its twinkling lights moved out into the night were familiar were comforting for me.
This is another favourite which I no longer have room for, due to downsizing.
36”x36”, oil on canvas (2012)
